Dr. Mukhtar Yawale Muhammad, has officially assumed duty as the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy FMACTCE.
He takes over from Mrs. Ugochi Akudo Nwosu, Director Overseeing the Office of the Permanent Secretary, during a formal handing-over ceremony held at the Ministry’s headquarters.

In his remarks, Dr. Muhammad called on all Technical Directors and management staff to lend their full support and cooperation towards achieving the Ministerial Deliverables as outlined under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He emphasized the importance of collaboration and innovation, urging the team to freely share ideas and technical expertise in line with the Ministry’s core mandate.
“I am here to work with you. Let us bring new ideas and make this Ministry one of the stars of this administration,” he said. Dr. Muhammad also stated his commitment to an open-door policy, encouraging constructive discussions focused solely on developmental issues to move the Ministry forward.

Earlier, Mrs. Ugochi Akudo Nwosu expressed her gratitude to the Honourable Minister, Barr. Hannatu Musa Musawa, for the opportunity to serve.
She also thanked the Directors and staff for their support and cooperation during her tenure. She noted that with the expanded mandate of the newly merged Ministry, there is a greater expectation for the Ministry to contribute significantly to Nigeria’s non-oil GDP.
Goodwill messages were delivered by various Directors, who pledged their support, solidarity, and best wishes to the new Permanent Secretary.
The highlight of the ceremony was the formal signing and handing over of documents.
