The Federal Ministry of Education in Nigeria has announced the launch of a nationwide Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Program.
In a statement signed by the Director, Press & Public Relations Federal ministry of education Boriowo Folasade.

The statement explained that, the initiative aims to equip Nigerians with industry-relevant skills, enhancing their employability and contributing to the country’s economic growth.
He noted that, to ensure the quality and standardization of the program, the Ministry has established mandatory requirements for registration and accreditation.
Folasade noted that vocational Enterprise Institutions (VEIs), Skill Training Centres (STCs), and Mastercraft Persons (MCPs) are invited to register for accreditation, which will enable them to receive government funding to train candidates under the TVET Program.

The registration requirements include:
Registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) for VEIs and STCs, Adoption of National Skills Qualification (NSQ)-Based Curricula, Qualified instructors and adequate infrastructure as well as Quality Assurance Assessors (QAAs) and Internal Quality Assurance Managers (IQAMs).
“Accredited institutions and individuals will be eligible for government funding to support the training of candidates. Interested applicants can submit their applications through the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) Digital Portal”
The statement pointed out that, the TVET Program is a significant step towards addressing the skills gap in Nigeria and promoting economic development.
By providing Nigerians with relevant skills and training, the program aims to enhance their employability and contribute to the country’s growth and prosperity.
