Kano and Kaduna All Stars football teams have booked their spots in the final of the 2025 Northwest Veterans All Stars Qualifier Tournament, following an impressive run of form at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata.

Kano cruised into the final after thrashing Sokoto 6-0 and edging Kebbi 2-1 in a fiercely contested group stage.

Kaduna, on the other hand, narrowly defeated Zamfara 1-0 and recorded a dominant 6-0 win over Jigawa to secure their place.

Despite strong performances earlier in the tournament—Zamfara trouncing Jigawa 6-0 and Kebbi overwhelming Sokoto 5-0—both teams fell short of reaching the final.

Zonal Coordinator, Alhaji Danburan Abubakar Nuhu, who once served as Kano State Commissioner for Information, Youth and Sports, expressed satisfaction with the turnout and organization of the event.

“The tournament has been a huge success. I urge both finalists to play in the spirit of unity—this is not a do-or-die affair,” he said.

He also praised the efforts of players and officials, promising that the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) will continue working to ensure a smooth championship.

Top personalities expected at the final include NSC Chairman Malam Shehu Dikko, NFF President Malam Ibrahim Musa Gusau, NFF Secretary General Dr. Muhammad Sanusi, former Super Eagles star Garba Lawal, and key football stakeholders across and beyond the zone.

President of Kano All Stars, Alhaji Muhammad Abba Galadima, welcomed all participating teams, urging them to uphold the integrity of the game and avoid any acts that could tarnish the competition’s image.

He also thanked the Kano State Government for providing the necessary facilities to host the tournament successfully.
