The Kano State Ministry of Justice has recorded impressive achievements in 2024, handling over 2000 criminal and civil cases across various courts in the state.
This milestone demonstrates the ministry’s commitment to upholding justice and maintaining law and order.
Governor Yusuf Reaffirms Independence of Kano PCACC
Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Barrister Haruna Isa Dederi, revealed that the ministry concluded 352 cases in 2024, including:
103 robbery cases
92 homicide cases
117 rape cases
24 unnatural cases
36 civil litigation cases
The ministry also facilitated the drafting of 69 agreements and 59 Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) for state and local government councils.
Furthermore, they drafted and amended 118 bills to enhance service delivery and promote prudence across various departments and agencies.

In addition to its litigation successes, the ministry achieved significant milestones in mediation and alternative dispute resolution.
They successfully mediated and secured recoveries for complainants in 70 cases, covering issues such as marital affairs, business disputes, and community matters.
