The Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Professor Abdullahi Saleh, has allayed fears of disruptions to the 2025 Hajj exercise, assuring that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure a smooth and seamless pilgrimage.
Saleh’s assurance comes on the heels of reports suggesting that thousands of Nigerian intending pilgrims may be unable to perform the 2025 Hajj due to the cancellation of the Masha’ir contract by NAHCON.

However, the Chairman dismissed the claim as false, emphasizing that no pilgrim would be left out of the exercise.
According to Saleh, the contract in question was actually canceled by the Saudi authorities, not NAHCON.
He explained that he recently traveled to Saudi Arabia to meet with the relevant authorities and get to the bottom of the issue.

“The contract of the two companies was canceled by the Saudi authorities themselves. They were reinstated again and they canceled the contract once more,” he clarified.
Saleh stressed the importance of resolving the matter promptly to avoid any disruptions to the Hajj exercise.
He expressed his commitment to ensuring a seamless pilgrimage, saying, “Our pilgrims will be glad with the arrangements we put in place.
