The finals of the 25th edition of the Nestlé Milo Inter-Secondary Schools Basketball Championship for both boys’ and girls’ categories have officially kicked off at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
Organized by the Nigeria School Sports Federation (NSSF), in collaboration with other key stakeholders, the championship aims to catch sporting talents at a young age. Prior to the finals, regional conferences were held in Kano, Asaba (Delta State), FCT Abuja, and Oyo State, which produced the finalists.

This milestone 25th edition is expected to be a memorable one as organizers and sponsors plan a grand celebration of the tournament’s success over the years.
Speaking on behalf of NSSF President Mrs. Olabisi Joseph, the Federation’s spokesperson Sagir Sani assured that all arrangements are in place for a smooth and successful championship.
Mrs. Joseph also thanked all stakeholders who have contributed to the sustained growth of school sports in the past two decades, pledging NSSF’s commitment to further sports development.
She also commended the leadership of the National Sports Commission (NSC), headed by Malam Shehu Dikko, as well as sponsors for their unwavering support toward the growth of sports across the country.
Adamawa Teams Win Savannah Conference Milo Championship
Earlier matches saw Bayelsa defeat Adamawa 41-23, Osun overpower Oyo 40-30 in the girls’ category, while in the boys’ category Lagos edged Bayelsa 40-37, and Adamawa secured a close 43-40 victory over Abuja.
The tournament resumes tomorrow at the same venue.
