The Nigerian-American Football Association (NAFA) has urged the Kano State Government KNSG and other sports stakeholders to support the development of American football at the grassroots level.

The event attracted participants from 12 secondary and primary schools, both boys and girls, from across the Kano metropolitan area, who came to learn the skills, rules, and basics of the game.
Coach Abe explained that the call for support is essential to encourage young people to develop an interest in American football, noting that many youths are currently focused only on soccer.
He highlighted the potential of American football as a lucrative career path, with players securing scholarships and earning substantial incomes both locally and internationally.
While expressing his gratitude to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Kano State Ministry of Education, game masters, and other partners for their unwavering support, Coach Abe assured that NAFA would work diligently to ensure Kano, Jigawa, and Adamawa states benefit significantly from the development of the sport in the region and the country at large.
He added that NAFA has also received support from the National Sports Commission, led by Malam Shehu Dikko, and other partners. He emphasized that efforts would be intensified to organize competitions at both state and national levels to achieve the association’s objectives.
