The Oba Yoruba of Kano, His Royal Majesty Dr Murtala Alimi Otisese, has enjoined Muslim faithful to cultivate the habit of alleviating poverty in society by giving empowerment to the less privileged.
Oba Adetimirin made this call during the Maiden edition of the empowerment programme by the NUREINI JIMOH LEGAL SUPPORT FOUNDATION (NJLSF) in Kano state at the Jamaatul Islamiyyah Masjid Yankaba, Kano.

In his address, the Founder, Barr Nurein Jimoh (SAN) said, this presentation of cheques to the beneficiaries who were widows, selected from various muslim organisations in Kano, serves as the second phase of the empowerment exercise as plans are in top gear for two more phases before the year runs out.
Barr Nureini Jimoh (SAN), a leading legal luminary in Kano, highlighted several achievements of the foundation, founded in 2008, which include the purchase of law books in the Faculty of Law of BUK and ABU Zaria, payment of tuition fees for outstanding students, among others.

According to him, there is also a plan to construct a clinic facility at the National Orthopaedic Hospital (NOH) Dala, Kano state.
While delivering his sermon, the Chief Imam of Ansarud Deen society, Kano branch, Shaykh Abdulateef Emiabata, enjoined muslims to extoll the virtues of Prophet Muhammad (saw) by giving back to society and also encouraged the beneficiaries to judiciously use the money given to them.
Earlier in his address, the Kano branch Chairman of Jamaatul Islamiyyah, Alhaji Qomarudeen Bello thanked the initiator of the program for deeming it fit to honour the Association, describing him as a supporting pillar since inception.
Other dignitaries in the event include the branch Imam, Shaykh Abubakar Ali Gambari, members of Jamaatul Islamiyyah, Kano branch, members of COYYOM, Obas in Council, and other dignitaries.
