The Nigeria Police Force has made significant breakthroughs in its efforts to combat crime and ensure national safety.

In a series of coordinated operations, the police raided an illegal weapons manufacturing factory in Benue State, arrested a notorious cultist in Delta State, and apprehended two murder suspects in Kebbi State.

Illegal Weapons Factory Raided

On January 11, 2025, police operatives raided an illegal weapons manufacturing factory in Tse Akamabe Area of Kwande LGA, Benue State.

Nigeria Police Force Re-Strategizes to Combat Kidnapping

The operation resulted in the arrest of two suspects, Friday Aduduakambe and Iorwashima Iornyume. A search of the factory yielded a cache of illicit weapons and manufacturing tools, including:

9 locally fabricated pistols

1 locally fabricated Ak47 riffle (unfinished)

2 gas cylinders

4 vise machines

1 filing machine

Numerous other weapons manufacturing tools

Notorious Cultist Arrested

In a separate operation, police operatives in Delta State arrested a notorious cultist, Prosper Akeni, and recovered a stash of firearms and ammunition.

The suspect confessed that the recovered guns belonged to his cult group and that he was the group’s leader.

Murder Suspects Arrested

In Kebbi State, police operatives arrested two suspects, Yunusa Haruna and Abubakar Ummar, for murder.

Kano State Police Foil Female-Led Phone Theft Syndicate

Haruna allegedly stabbed his elder brother, Isiyaku Haruna, to death, while Ummar was arrested for stabbing one Mohammed Bala during an argument.

IGP Commends Operatives

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, commended the operatives for their achievements and urged them to intensify efforts to restore sanctity across the country.

Jigawa Police Arrest Teenager for Conspiring to Kill Husband

The IGP also encouraged the public to remain vigilant and share useful information with the police to ensure a community-based policing system.
