The Women Farmers Advancement Network (WOFAN) has taken a transformative step in empowering nine Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) by providing them with nine modified PWD motorbikes in Ikara LGA Kaduna state.
These motorbikes are not just mobility aids; they are platforms for economic empowerment, enabling Community Partners to engage in various vocations and serve as hubs of innovation in their communities.
The PWDs are actively involved in vocations such as phone charging, selling agrochemicals, and managing solar-powered systems provided by WOFAN.
These initiatives are expected to have a ripple effect, as each empowered PWD is equipped with the tools and skills to train at least 10 additional community members.
The solar-powered systems, in particular, have been designed as a sustainable solution, ensuring uninterrupted service delivery and offering a learning opportunity for 10 more others.
By transferring knowledge and skills to more individuals, the initiative fosters entrepreneurship, broadens community access to essential services, and creates new streams of income for marginalized groups.
This approach aligns with WOFAN’s commitment to driving inclusive economic growth by focusing on the multiplier effect.
Through these efforts, not only are the lives of the PWDs transformed, but entire communities stand to benefit from enhanced services, improved livelihoods, and shared prosperity
