The Zamfara state government has visited 19 emirates to prepare for this year’s annual state Qur’anic recitation competition.
Alhaji Ahmad Garba Yandi, who is the State Commissioner for Local Government and also the Chairman of the Musabaqa Committee, revealed this in an interview with reporters in Gusau, the state capital.
He mentioned that preparations for the competition are at an advanced stage and that the committee has conducted tours to all emirates to ensure the smooth conduct of the event in the state as part of its preparations to conduct the competition without any hitch.
The Committee Chairman further added that, as usual the competition would commence at the emirates level then local government and ended at the state level, noting that the overall winners of the state competition will represent the state at the national competition.
According him, they visited the Emirates to identified the weakness of each local governments and gradually fix them ahead of the state and national competitions to enable the participants to practice and succeed in flying colors.
He further explained that, the overall winners of the state completion would be camp for two weeks to undergo additional coaching ahead of the national competition without returning back to their houses.
The commissioner said the state embarked on early preparations in order to makes its work easy, noting that last year, Zamfara state had won five prizes including 1st position in two categories; 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions in different categories.
Garba Yandi, therefore, urged both the competitors and guiders to complement the efforts by the state government in making the state local competition a success.
He reiterated the commitment of Zamfara state government towards making the state victorious at levels of the completion.
