Dakata explained that, the target was achievable through effective regulation of billboards, posters, street signage, and branded vehicles across the state.
“Our target from September to December is N1.5 billion, and we have mapped out strategies to ensure this is realised,
“We are also targeting N3 billion in 2026 and N5 billion in 2027,”
The DG pointed out that the agency was established to sanitise the state’s physical environment and generate revenue for the government in line with global best practices.
He further stressed that, the agency’s mandate covers billboards, branded vehicles, roadshows, tricycles, delivery riders, and advertisements displayed on shops or private premises.

“KASA will determine the number, size and location of structures, as well as remove abandoned billboards that pose safety risks,”
According to him, all the existing structures before the law must be registered, inspected and either approved, adjusted or removed if they fail to meet standards.
Dakata maintained that the agency’s operations were not only to generate revenue but also to sanitise outdoor advertising and align with global best practices.
He said payments would be made through the state’s Centralised Billing System under the Kano Internal Revenue Service, to block leakages from cash transactions.
The DG urged the stakeholders to comply with the law, noting that they had contributed to its drafting and were already familiar with similar regulations in other states.
“As the commercial hub of the North, Kano could harness the advertising sector for revenue generation and development,”
