The Director-General of the Kano state Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency (DMCSA), Pharm. Gali Sule, has partnered with the Africa Health Budget Initiative (AHBN) to boost family planning programs in Kano State.
This collaboration aims to increase awareness, participation, and engagement among government bodies and civil society organizations in family planning and maternal health initiatives.
Sule emphasized that women’s health is a top priority for the DMCSA, highlighting the agency’s efforts to integrate family planning programs into the Drug Revolving Fund (DRF) scheme. This move aligns with national health policies and demonstrates the DMCSA’s commitment to improving women’s health.
The AHBN delegation, led by Aqibu Hamisu, commended the Kano State government for addressing stockouts of family planning commodities at primary healthcare centers.
Other AHBN representatives, Sulaiman Umar Jalo and Nafisa Shehu Ibrahim, expressed gratitude for the agency’s support and pledged to contribute to improving maternal health across the state .
