Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II has expressed his support for the Radio Schools initiative by Community Aid Connect (CA-C), describing it as an important tool for expanding educational access to out-of-school populations.

The Emir made this commitment on Tuesday during a visit by CA-C’s CEO, Maryam Y. Farouk, to his palace. The visit marked the completion of the academic year for the program’s beneficiaries.
The Radio Schools initiative aims to deliver education to children and adults in underserved communities. Over the past year, the program has distributed textbooks, writing materials, and teaching aids to more than 33,000 children across the seven states of northwest Nigeria, including 3,520 beneficiaries in Kano State.

Speaking at the event, Emir Sanusi II emphasized the need for innovative solutions to address the education challenges in the region.
“Education is the foundation of development, and initiatives like Radio Schools are pivotal in transforming our communities. I am committed to supporting this program and ensuring its reach extends through community learning centers across Kano State,” he said.

Dr. Binta Abubakar, Executive Secretary of the Kano State Agency for Mass Education, highlighted the program’s role in improving literacy rates in the region.
“The Radio Schools program is a game-changer for education in the northwest. Through this collaboration, we are bridging gaps in literacy and empowering communities,” she remarked.

Maryam Y. Farouk, CEO of CA-C, expressed gratitude for the Emir’s support and highlighted the program’s achievements in addressing educational needs among underserved populations.
“Our goal is to provide inclusive and accessible education to every child and adult who needs it. With the Emir’s backing and contributions from stakeholders like the Kano State Agency for Mass Education, we are confident of achieving this vision,” she stated.
