The Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmad, has officially announced the 2025 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) results, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria’s educational landscape.
This highly competitive examination, which took place on June 14, 2025, in Nigeria, Republic of Benin, and Togo, saw a total of 64,578 candidates register, with 61,290 sitting for the exam and 3,288 absent.

Promoting Unity and Excellence
Tagged “Pro-United,” the examination aims at promoting unity among students from diverse backgrounds across the country.
Prof. Ahmad emphasized that the criteria for admission into Federal Unity Colleges (FCU’s), remain unchanged, with 60% based on merit, 30% on equality of state, and 10% on exigencies.
Key Highlights of the 2025 NCEE Results
– 13 candidates achieved the highest score of 202.
– 27 candidates scored the lowest mark of 1.
– 52 candidates, including 2 from Lagos and 50 from Rivers were involved in examination malpractices.
Federal Government Academy Examination Highlights
– 3,421 candidates registered for the examination.
– 3,141 candidates sat for the examination.
– 280 candidates were absent.
– The highest score recorded was 194, while the lowest score was 1.
Over 64,000 Candidates Sit 2025 NCEE into Nigeria’s Unity Colleges
Prof. Ahmad urged the Senior Secondary School Department in the Federal Ministry of Education, to ensure timely completion of admission processes according to specified criteria.
She reassured parents and Nigerians that the government is committed to enhancing infrastructure development, feeding, and teaching quality in all the Federal Unity colleges across the nation.
Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, Executive Registrar of NECO, presented the 2025 Common Entrance results to Prof. Ahmad.
Earlier, in her opening remarks, the Director of Senior Secondary Schools in the Ministry, represented by Mayo Oga, highlighted the significance of the NCEE and FGA examinations in seeking quality education across the 80 Federal Unity Colleges in the country.
