The Kano State Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has inaugurated the Kano State Ministry of Information and Internal Affairs Staff Multi-purpose Cooperative Society, fulfilling one of his promises upon assuming office.
Inaugurating the committee members, the Commissioner stated that the cooperative society was established to support and improve the welfare of the ministry’s staff.

He further explained that an agreement has been reached with food vendors to supply food items to the cooperative society at subsidized prices for staff members.
The Commissioner also disclosed that the cooperative society has been duly registered, and a bank account has been opened to ensure its smooth operation.

The committee members include Shitu Muhammad as Chairman, while other members are Abdulhamid Hamisu, Dahiru Hamisu, Yusuf Ibrahim, Bala Umar Zango, Nuhu Tanko, Ibrahim Hassan, Salam Sani, Mudi Garba, and Jibrin Sani as Secretary.
Additionally, Comrade Waiya has donated N1,000,000 to support the successful takeoff of the cooperative society.
In a related development, the Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs has distributed N40,000 in cash to each staff of the ministry as part of a Ramadan welfare package.
Comrade Waiya stated that the gesture aligns with his commitment to staff welfare, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
He emphasized that this initiative is in line with the present administration’s policy of prioritizing the well-being of civil servants in the state.
