Kano State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (Kano-ACReSAL) has organized a Sensitisation for the Implementation of the Resettlement Action Plan (RAP).
The sensitisation took place at Bulbula-Gayawa community in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State.
ACReSAL Project Restores Maiduguri Zoo To Former Glory
The aim was to familiarise the Project Affected Persons (PAPs), and the broader community, with the concept of the Resettlement Action Plan (RAP), which is a vital component for the proposed Bulbula-Gayawa erosion control works.
The Kano State Commissioner for Environment who doubles as the Chairman of the State Steering Committee, Dr. Dahir Muhammad Hashim, represented by the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer, Aminu Gidado Yusha’u, called on the community to reciprocate the government’s efforts through selflessness, support, and cooperation to ensure the project’s successful execution.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the commitment of the Kano State Government, under the able leadership of Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, to tackling the environmental challenges that have long hindered the socio-economic development of the community.
ACReSAL Project Team Visits Kano to Assess Intervention Progress
Providing an overview of the RAP, the Environmental Safeguard Officer, Alhaji Mukhtar Bello, stressed the importance of active participation and full cooperation from the PAPs to enable the timely and successful completion of the exercise and pave the way for the commencement of actual civil works.
The District Head of Gama Community, Alhaji Rabiu Muhammad Isyaku, expressed gratitude for the government’s continued concern and commitment under the Kano-ACReSAL project.
He assured the community’s readiness to diligently fulfil their assigned roles and responsibilities.
