The Kano State Police Command received members of the House Committee on Police Affairs, led by Chairman Hon. Makki Abubakar Yalleman, during an assessment visit aimed at evaluating the operational readiness of the Command.
During the visit, Hon. Yalleman highlighted the committee’s mission to identify areas requiring support and explore collaborative strategies to enhance law enforcement and public safety in Kano State.
He commended the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD., NPM, for his proactive measures in addressing nationwide security challenges.
He also acknowledged the Kano State Government’s contribution of vehicles to bolster the Command’s operational capacity.
According to SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, ANIPR, MNISMA, the Police Public Relations Officer, the Commissioner of Police welcomed the committee and expressed gratitude for their visit, emphasizing the Command’s commitment to ensuring peace and security in Kano State.
SP Kiyawa reiterated that the collaboration between the Police and the National Assembly is vital for strengthening security frameworks and addressing emerging challenges effectively.
The visit underscores the essential partnership between the Nigeria Police Force and the National Assembly in advancing community policing initiatives and ensuring public safety in Kano State.
