A head of the 2025 Nigeria Education Forum Summit, Kano State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing the state’s education sector through various initiatives.
The State Commissioner of Education Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda made the disclosure at the official inauguration of the Steering Committee for 2025 Nigeria Education Forum Summit held at the Nigeria Governors’ Forum Secretariat, Maitama Abuja.

Ali Makoda who serves as A member of the Steering Committee from Kano, explained that the administration of Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf implemented many projects that transformed the state education sector.
He revealed that the state allocated 29.75% and 31.5% of its 2024 and 2025 budget to education, showcasing its dedication to addressing sector challenges
Other steps taken according to the Commissioner, was the declaration of state of emergency on education by the Governor to overcome lingering problems of poor infrastructure, in adequate teacher training, dilapidated schools, low student’s enrollment and out of schools’ children.
Makoda explained that to this end, the administration had successfully executed numerous education initiatives such as New schools construction and renovation,

Distribution of instructional materials to public schools, infrastructure development and distribution of school uniforms to provide quality education.
The Commissioner further highlighted the importance of the recent Kano Education Recovery Conference and introduction of Education Reform Agenda Policy by the administration as one of the step taken to revolutionize the education sector.
On the forthcoming Nigeria Education Forum Summit, Dr. Makoda stressed that…” Kano State would be fully represented to voice out our plans and needs.

He therefore assured of the state determination to accord all the needed support and cooperation towards the overall success of the up coming summit.
The summit, scheduled for December 2025, will bring together participants from all 36 states to discuss critical issues in educational development which align with the Federal Ministry of Education’s goals,
