The Kano State Government has announced a strategic partnership with Muslim Charity For United Kingdom to enhance Islamic education in the state.
The collaboration aims to support Islamiyya schools with modern learning materials and improve overall educational standards.

According to Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru, Director of Public Enlightenment, Ministry of Education, Kano State, this initiative aligns with the government’s broader efforts to strengthen the education sector.
He emphasized that the partnership will help address critical challenges facing Islamic education and ensure that Islamiyya schools receive the necessary support for effective teaching and learning.
Kano State Engages Imams to Promote Girls’ Education
The announcement was made by the State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, when he received a delegation from Muslim Charity For United Kingdom.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to revitalizing the education sector and highlighted the state of emergency on education declared by the Kano State Government.
Dr. Makoda expressed optimism that the partnership would further enhance Islamic education, especially within the Islamiyya school system, which is already structured under a dedicated board to maintain educational quality.
He noted that the engagement would focus on providing modern learning materials to improve students’ performance.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Dr. Samira Abubakar Abdullahi, leader of Muslim Charity For United Kingdom, explained that the organization is actively working in Nigeria to support education and healthcare initiatives.
She stated that their contributions include school renovation programs, educational development projects, and healthcare services.
“We are here at the ministry to discuss areas of collaboration and to brief the Honorable Commissioner about our activities,” she said.
This partnership marks a crucial step in strengthening Islamic education in Kano State, reflecting the government’s dedication to collaborating with organizations that share its vision for educational reform.
