    Katsina First Lady Distributes 100 Mama Kits to Pregnant Women

    In a determined effort to reduce maternal and child mortality rates, the First Lady of Katsina State, Hajia Zulaihat Dikko Radda, has launched a major maternal health initiative by distributing 100 “Mama Kits” to pregnant women in Kafur and Malumfashi Local Government Areas.

    The distribution exercise, held in both LGAs, is part of the Radda-led administration’s broader campaign to promote safer childbirth and improve access to essential maternal healthcare services.

    Kano Provides Free Maternity Kits Cesarian Surgeries to Women

    Represented at by the wife of the Chief of Staff, Hajia Maijida Abdukadir, the First Lady emphasized the importance of maternal health and urged expectant mothers to prioritize antenatal care by visiting nearby health facilities.

    “Healthcare delivery is a key priority of this administration, and initiatives like this are designed to support our women, especially those in rural communities, with the basic materials needed for a safe and healthy delivery,” she stated.

    Speaking during the event, Chairman of Kafur Local Government, Alhaji Surajo Bature Dankanjiba, and Vice Chairman of Malumfashi, Alhaji Muntari Adamu Dayi—representing Chairman Alhaji Muktar Abdullahi—praised the initiative, describing it as both timely and impactful.

    “This program is a crucial step in addressing the high rates of maternal and child mortality in our communities,”

    While commending the First Lady for her unwavering commitment to the health and well-being of women across the state.

    They also called on beneficiaries to make good use of the Mama Kits and pledged continued support for ongoing and future health programs.

    Other key speakers at the event included the wives of the Kafur and Malumfashi LGA Chairmen—Hajia Habi Surajo and Hajia Maryam Muktar Abdullahi—as well as the Directors of Primary Health Care in both LGAs, Alhaji Abdurahaman Ma’azu and Alhaji Shehu Muhammad Kankara.

    They expressed appreciation for the initiative and emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration to improve maternal and child healthcare across Katsina State.

    This latest intervention highlights the Katsina State Government’s commitment to enhancing maternal and child health, ensuring every mother has access to safe delivery materials, and promoting healthier outcomes for families in the state.
