The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, will arraign 23 suspected internet fraudsters before Justice D. Dipeolu of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos.
The suspects are among 93 individuals arrested during a sting operation at a hotel within the precincts of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL).

Upon profiling, most of those arrested were indicted for offences bordering on impersonation, identity theft, and internet fraud.
The arraignment, scheduled to hold in batches, follows their arrest at a pool party where they were allegedly celebrating fraudulent exploits.
The event, initially planned for two other locations, was moved to the OOPL hotel in an attempt to evade EFCC operatives.

Investigations revealed that the organizers, aware of EFCC’s intelligence, relocated the gathering, assuming the venue would shield them from law enforcement action.
The Commission clarifies that the OOPL facility was never a target; the operation was aimed solely at the suspects, who have since confessed to their involvement in internet crimes.
The arraignment of the remaining suspects will follow in due course.
