In a major stride toward technological advancement and educational innovation, Dr. Abdulmalik Zubairu, Member representing Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency, has officially fulfilled his pledge to establish an AI Laboratory at Kaduna State University (KASU).
This commitment was first announced during the inaugural Education, Skills, and Security Summit organized by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Northwest Zone, held on 23rd February 2025.

Following the pledge, the state-of-the-art AI laboratory has now been fully installed at the Computer Centre in the PTDF Building on the university’s main campus.
The initiative is aimed at promoting innovation, deepening research, and enhancing technological competencies among students and researchers at KASU and beyond.
The installation and activation of the lab equipment were carried out in collaboration with Olak-Eli Engineering Services (OES), a tech solutions firm partnering with KASU to deliver hands-on skill development programs.
This strategic collaboration will offer capacity-building training in cutting-edge technology areas, including:
Python Programming
Electronics and Embedded Systems
Internet of Things (IoT)
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT)
In a formal letter addressed to the Vice Chancellor of KASU, Hon. Zubairu reiterated that the AI lab is designed to support transformative learning, digital innovation, and job-readiness among Nigerian youths.

He also appointed Dr. Rabiu Adamu to serve as the liaison for the successful execution and sustainability of the project.
“This laboratory represents our belief in the transformative power of education and innovation. I am confident that it will leave a lasting impact on the students and youth of Kaduna State University and the entire Northern region,” Hon. Zubairu noted.
This development is a landmark in KASU’s commitment to positioning itself as a hub for digital innovation, aligning with national objectives to integrate artificial intelligence and emerging technologies into Nigeria’s education system.
The university has expressed its gratitude for the gesture and affirmed its readiness to provide a conducive environment and qualified personnel to manage the facility effectively.
