Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabiru Yusuf, has received the 29 students who recently completed their master’s degrees at SR University in India, marking a significant milestone in the state’s ambitious foreign scholarship program.

Governor Yusuf in company of Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso personally received the students, underscoring the importance the administration places on education and human capital development.

In a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawkin Tofa, Governor Yusuf congratulated the returning scholars on their achievements, praising their determination and hard work.

He highlighted the critical role that the newly acquired knowledge would play in contributing to Kano’s socio-economic growth.IMG 20241022 WA0137

“Your success is a testament to the potential that exists within Kano’s youth, and it is our responsibility to ensure that more talented individuals are given the same opportunities,”

In line with this commitment, Governor Yusuf announced the reopening of the application process for a new round of scholarship scheme tagged 1,0001 Postgraduate Scholarship Programme.

This move signals the administration’s ongoing dedication to nurturing the academic and professional potential of the state’s underprivileged youth.

The 29 graduates represent the first cohort of the 1,001-student foreign scholarship initiative, and the new recruitment phase aims to expand opportunities for more Kano students to pursue higher education abroad.

Earlier, the beneficiaries of the scheme arrived Kano from Uganda, while others are scheduled to arrive in November and December respectively.
