Alhaji Aminu Babba Danagundi, a key figure in the ongoing Kano emirate dispute, has urged all parties involved to respect the Court of Appeal’s ruling, which ordered the maintenance of the status quo pending the Supreme Court’s decision.
He made the call while speaking at the Nasarawa Palace in Kano.

According to him, the Court of Appeal’s directive was clear: maintain the status quo ante, meaning the situation should revert to what it was before the matter was taken to court.
He stressed that, this implies that individuals recently appointed under the repealed Kano Emirate Council Law should vacate their positions.
Recall that, the Court of Appeal issued an injunction preventing the enforcement of a lower court’s judgment until the Supreme Court rules on the applicant’s appeal.
The respondents in the case include the Kano State House of Assembly and other government agencies.
