In a bid to support and empower its citizens, the Kano State Government, under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has announced a special scholarship program for indigent law graduates law who are yet to attend law school.
The Executive Secretary Kano State Scholarship Board, Alhaji Kabiru Haruna Getso,made the disclosure during an interview with journalists to commemorate one-year anniversary of Governor Abba Kabir led administration.
He highlighted that Kano State has been recognized by the federal government as one of the top states in terms of providing scholarships to its citizens.
Alhaji Kabiru high Kano State had been selected to host a five-day event bringing together key scholarship stakeholders to address crucial issues within the sector.
He encouraged Kano indigenes studying law to reach out to the Scholarship Board to utilize opportunity, as Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has undertaken to cover their tuition fees.
The Executive Secretary commended the State Government’s efforts in sponsoring Kano indigenes for master’s degree programs globally.
He emphasized the significant investment made in both foreign and domestic scholarships, mentioning that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s scholarships initiatives as the first of it’s kind in Kano state.
Alhaji Kabiru Haruna Getso dismissed rumours regarding Kano students in India,saying that they are baseless and politically motivated aimed at tarnishing the state’s reputation.
He congratulated Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and his Deputy, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, on their successful one year in office, reiterating the government’s commitment to educational advancement and human capital development in Kano State.
The executive secretary advised eligible students to contact Kano state scholarship board for information regarding the law school scholarship.
