The Office of the Accountant General, Kano state Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, has organized a technical session on the state’s international public sector accounting (IPSAS) Accrual financial statements for 2024.

The session aims to enhance transparency and accountability in public fund management, block financial leakages, and create a conducive environment for investment and job creation.
In her welcome remarks the state Accountant General, Hajiya Jamila Magaji Abdullahi, explained that,the Kano State Government’s commitment to effective financial management is evident in its adoption of IPSAS and the preparation of the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), a comprehensive public financial management process.
She expressed optimism about the session’s outcome and encouraged participants to utilize the knowledge gained to achieve desired objectives.

The accountant general assured that the state government, under the leadership of Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, is committed to mapping out programs and policies that will move Kano to global standards
The Director of Final Accounts, who doubles as the keynote speaker, Alhaji Rabiu Abdullahi, highlighted the importance of the session in preparing Kano State’s annual financial statements and commended the governor for fulfilling his electoral promises.
He urged citizens to contribute their quota to the state’s development.
The technical session, themed “Accountability and Transparency in the Management of Public Funds,” demonstrated the Kano State Government’s commitment to effective financial management and transparency, ultimately benefiting the citizens.
