The Kano state Ministry of Health MOH in collaboration with Breakthrough Action Nigeria (BA-N) organized a 3-Day Message Development Workshop on Diphtheria and Cholera.
This initiative aims to create clear, accurate and effective messages to educate communities on preventing and managing these diseases.
Kano State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, emphasized the collective responsibility of stakeholders, including health workers, traditional leaders, community organizations and media, in combating these diseases .
He encouraged participants to develop realistic messages that inform, empower and guide communities.
The workshop also highlighted the importance of school health clubs in promoting health education and awareness among young people.
By integrating health education into secondary school activities, the government invests in the next generation’s health and well-being.
Dr. Labaran commended Breakthrough Action Nigeria for their resourceful support and commitment to advancing public health in Kano state.

Development or Standardized Messages by Crafting messages on cholera and diphtheria prevention, symptoms and treatment that resonate with different communities.
Others are Debunkong Myths and Misconceptions by Disseminate correct information to counter rumors and misconceptions surrounding these diseases.
