Yenagoa, Bayelsa State — The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, delivered a powerful keynote at the 2025 Bayelsa State E-Commerce Entrepreneurship Programme (BEEP), where he urged local entrepreneurs to harness the power of technology and digital platforms to build globally competitive businesses.
Held in Yenagoa, the event gathered innovators, tech enthusiasts, and startup founders from across the Niger Delta. Inuwa emphasized that with the right tools, innovation, and mindset, small businesses can scale beyond physical and geographic limitations. He provided practical insights on digital customer engagement, strategic product marketing, and how to launch lean, tech-enabled startups.
Highlighting the alignment of NITDA’s initiatives with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the DG reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to inclusive economic growth. He also encouraged Bayelsa entrepreneurs to attend the upcoming GITEX Nigeria for global exposure and networking opportunities.
In a major show of support for the tech ecosystem, Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri awarded ₦250 million and ₦500 million interest-free loans to two standout innovators during the event. He also announced a strategic partnership with NITDA to establish an IT Knowledge Centre in the state, further reinforcing Bayelsa’s ambition to become a leading digital innovation hub in the South-South region.
