Over three hundred secondary schools are set to compete in both boys and girls categories of this year’s Kano state preliminaries of Nestle Milo basketball championship at Sani Abacha Sports complex, Kofar Mata Kano.
According to the programme released by the Nigerian School Sports Federation (NSSF) led by Mrs Olabisi Joseph said the lined up basketball activities include state final from March 27th to 22nd, 2025, the conference finals from May 2nd to June 4th, 2925 while the National final will take place in Lagos from June 20th to June 27th, 2025.

The eventual winners of the preliminaries in both boys and girls categories will automatically represent the state in the forthcoming Savannah basketball Conference scheduled to hold at the Indoor Sports Hall of Sani Abacha Sports complex Kofar Mata, Kano in May, 2025.
The states expected to compete in the Savannah Conference include Borno, Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa, Jigawa, Zamfara, Katsina, Taraba, Yobe and the host state Kano.
Speaking, Kano state director of sports in the state ministry of education, Malam Ibrahim Bello said that arrangements are in top gear towards the success of the state preliminaries, which are expected to commence tomorrow at the outdoor basketball courts, Kofar Mata, Kano.
NSSF Launches Nationwide Secondary School Competitions
Malam Ibrahim Bello charged the participants’ schools to give the organisers all maximum support and cooperation towards a hitch-free tournament.
While commending the state Commissioner of Education, Dr Gwani Ali Haruna Makoda, for his support, he assured that the sports section of the ministry would continue to do its best towards the overall development of various sporting activities in the state and the country at large.
