Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has warned intending pilgrims from the state to conduct themselves responsibly and avoid any actions that could tarnish the image of the state and Nigeria while in the Holy Land.
The governor gave the warning during the official flag-off of the distribution of uniforms, bags, and other approved items to intending pilgrims.
The event took place at the premises of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Board in Birnin Kebbi.
Governor Idris assured that his administration would provide all necessary support to the agency and the pilgrims before, during, and after the Hajj exercise to ensure a smooth, successful, and acceptable pilgrimage.

He disclosed that over 4,500 pilgrims from Kebbi State are expected to participate in the 2026 Hajj and urged them to pray for lasting peace and stability in the state and across the country.
The governor further revealed that all necessary arrangements have been completed in line with the requirements for the 2026 Hajj exercise. He added that the airlift of pilgrims will commence on May 2, 2026, from the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport.
Governor Idris expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness by the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Board, noting that the arrangements put in place for the airlift to Saudi Arabia were commendable.
Earlier, the Executive Chairman of the Board, Faruk Yaro Enabo, said the agency had secured six suitable accommodations in Mecca, located close to the Haram Mosque, to ensure the comfort and welfare of the pilgrims.

He added that Kebbi State has one of the highest numbers of fully paid pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj. According to him, all intending pilgrims have undergone comprehensive medical screening and will be subjected to a final check before departure to ensure that no one travels with underlying health conditions.
Enabo also confirmed that all travel documents, including visas, uniforms, bags, and other essentials, have been secured for the pilgrims.
He expressed appreciation to Governor Idris for his continued support to the board, assuring that the management and staff remain committed and loyal in delivering a successful Hajj operation.
