The IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja is set to host the 26th edition of the IBB Amateur Ladies Open golf tournament from February 13 to 17.
The event promises to be an exciting experience, with over 400 golfers from about 10 African countries expected to participate.

According to Dame Julie Donli, Lady Captain of the club, this year’s edition of the championship is themed “The Abuja Experience” and will showcase the city’s rich culture, hospitality, and beauty. Participants will be treated to a city tour, cultural displays, and a taste of local cuisine.
Donli revealed that about 10 African countries, including Uganda, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Botswana, Kenya, Rwanda, and Cameroon, have indicated interest in participating in the championship.

The event will also feature a female professionals tournament with a $5,000 prize money.
The Amateur championship boasts exciting prizes, including a return ticket to the UK and an all-expense-paid weekend stay at the Ibom Golf Resort in Uyo. A caddies and course workers competition, the first of its kind, will also be held.

Donli urged interested participants to register on time, as registration will close on January 24. A free accommodation package is available for the first 50 ladies (pros included) to register.
