Aminu Magashi Garba, Chairman of the AMG Foundation, has announced a donation of one million naira to support the welfare of female medical doctors under the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria, Kano State chapter.
The announcement was made during activities marking World Health Day at the AHBN Conference Hall in Kano.
Dr. Magashi said the financial support is aimed at improving the welfare and working conditions of female doctors in the state.

He added that the foundation remains committed to supporting MWAN’s long-term plans, including securing a permanent secretariat, establishing a doctors’ lounge, and enhancing workplace safety.
He also advised the association to create a dedicated sub-account to address members’ welfare needs and medical emergencies.
Responding, the Kano State President of MWAN, Safiya Garba, expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful. She noted that the support would significantly benefit members of the association.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders and members of the association, including former MWAN Presidents Binta Jibril Wudil and Halima Dal, as well as MWAN President-elect Zainab Uba Ibrahim.
Other attendees included the Chairman of AMMKaS, Salisu Yusuf, and the Executive Administrator of CHR, Nafisat Shehu, alongside members of the MWAN executive council.
