The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) hosted the Director General National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPPS), Professor Ayo Omotayo, alongside participants of the Senior Executive Course (SEC) 48, 2026, to strengthen collaboration between strategic institutions and Nigeria’s digital transformation ecosystem.
The visit follows the Strategic Institution’s Study Tour held yesterday, where Dr. Aristotle Onumo, Director of Stakeholder Management and Partnership at NITDA, delivered a presentation on behalf of the Director General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi.
The session highlighted the growing importance of the Orange Economy.
Dr. Onumo identified creativity, digital content, film, animation, and digital art as key pillars driving innovation and economic value through intellectual property.
He described the Orange Economy as a vital ecosystem capable of transforming cultural expression into sustainable economic growth, while noting challenges such as limited funding, gaps in intellectual property protection, infrastructure deficits, and ecosystem fragmentation.
He further emphasized Nigeria’s strategic advantage in the sector, citing the country’s youthful, creative population and rich cultural heritage.
Dr. Onumo called for deeper collaboration among government, private sector, creatives, investors, and academia to position Nigeria as a global leader in the Orange Economy.
The engagement reflects NITDA’s commitment to fostering partnerships that leverage technology and creativity for economic development, innovation, and national growth.
