The wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hajiah Fatima Abbas Tajudeen, has been honoured with a distinguished award at the Inspire Her International Conference 2026 in recognition of her unwavering commitment to women’s empowerment, social inclusion, and community development.
The event,brought together stakeholders, advocates, and leaders dedicated to advancing the role of women in society.
Speaking as Special Guest of Honour and award recipient, Hajiah Fatima Abbas Tajudeen expressed appreciation to the organisers for the recognition.
She described the conference theme, “Women Rising Through Barriers: Igniting Excellence and Strength for Generational Legacies,” as timely and reflective of the challenges many women continue to face.
She stressed that sustainable empowerment must be rooted in responsibility, discipline, self-reliance, and the right mindset.
According to her, women must see themselves not only as beneficiaries of support but also as builders of opportunity and creators of value within their homes, communities, and the nation at large.
The award recipient dedicated the honour to Nigerian women, acknowledging their resilience, strength, and invaluable contributions to national development.
She also highlighted the impact of the Fatima Tajudeen Abbas Foundation, noting that the initiative continues to equip women with practical skills in entrepreneurship, vocational development, and financial literacy to promote sustainable livelihoods and long-term independence.
Hajiah Fatima Abbas Tajudeen further commended the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the advocacy of Oluremi Tinubu for their support towards women, families, and vulnerable groups.
She also lauded the 10th House of Representatives under the leadership of Abbas Tajudeen for what she described as unprecedented efforts in promoting women’s inclusion in legislative leadership.
According to her, the recognition serves not only as an honour but also as a renewed call to action to continue building structures that empower women, strengthen families, and create lasting generational impact.
