The Coalition of APC Youth Movements from Kano State held a press conference at the National Union of Journalists Secretariat in Kano.
During the conference, the Chairman, Hon. Adamu Mukhtar Unguwar Gini, urged Nigerian youths to avoid participating in the planned End Bad Governance protest scheduled for August 1, 2024.
The coalition advised the youths to engage in constructive dialogue with the government instead of taking to the streets.
Chairman Adamu cited examples from countries like Sudan, Libya, and Kenya, where protests led to further instability and suffering.
He emphasized the historical precedent showing that protests, despite good intentions, have often failed to achieve the desired outcomes.
“seen instances where protests led to further instability and suffering, as witnessed in countries like Sudan, Libya, and recently, Kenya. In these nations, protests did not resolve the issues but rather exacerbated the challenges faced by the populace.”
The coalition called on governments at all levels to take decisive actions to alleviate the suffering of the masses and address economic and social challenges facing the country.
“It is crucial that the government addresses the economic and social challenges facing the country, providing tangible solutions to improve the quality of life for all Nigerians.”
