Speaking during his assumption of office, the 33rd commissioner since the ministry’s establishment in 1967, Dr. Danmaraya highlighted the importance of collective effort in delivering on the ministry’s goals.
“It is only with unity of purpose that the Ministry can achieve its mandate and the overall vision of driving the progress of the state,” he remarked.
According to Ameen Kabeer Yassar, Director of Public Enlightenment, the Commissioner’s inauguration marks a new chapter for the Ministry of Finance.

Dr. Danmaraya, a seasoned economist with expertise in energy policy and environmental economics, brings a wealth of academic and research experience, having taught at Northwest University, Kano, and American University of Nigeria, Adamawa.
He pledged to foster an inclusive working environment and urged employees to provide suggestions and advice to ensure progress and avoid potential challenges.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Sabiú Muhammad, welcomed the new commissioner and outlined the ministry’s crucial role in managing government financial policies, expenditures, and control mechanisms.
He assured Dr. Danmaraya of the unwavering support and dedication of the ministry’s workforce, which comprises eleven departments committed to delivering on its mandate.
Following the official handover, Dr. Danmaraya held a closed-door meeting with senior management staff to familiarize himself with the ministry’s operations and chart a course for the future.
