Comrade Ibrahim Waiya, the newly appointed Kano State Commissioner of Information, has vowed to prioritize the welfare and professional development of staff in the ministry.

Speaking shortly after assuming office, Comrade Waiya emphasized the importance of timely and accurate dissemination of information to the public.

He noted that this would help mitigate the spread of fake news, misinformation, and yellow journalism.

The commissioner assured staff of the ministry and its parastatals that he would ensure prompt payment of overtime and allowances.

This, he said, would enable them to achieve the desired objectives and provide quality services to the people of Kano State.

Comrade Waiya also reiterated the commitment of the Kano State government, under the leadership of Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, to promoting good governance and accountability.

He pledged to provide all necessary information to the public whenever the need arises.

As a human rights activist, Comrade Waiya stated that his doors are always open to community-based organizations and civil society groups.
