The Primary healthcare PHC department of Gwarzo local government area LGA has solicited the support and cooperation of security agencies, to successfully immunize children in prone areas.
The head of mobilization and enlightenment unit of the department, Mr Abubakar Musa Karaye, made the call while speaking with newsmen shortly after a taskforce meeting on polio immunisation.
Karaye emphasized on the need for robust plan, intervention and sensitization from the part of political, religious and tradional leaders to properly immunise non compliance settlements.
On his part the hèad of primary healthcare department said, about 85,000 children below the age of five, are expected to be immunised during the April round of the polio immunisation exercise.

He then commended the state Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam and Dr Mani Tsoho, for providing adequate logistics and financial support for the success of polio immunization campaign in the area.
Also speaking, the Chairman interim Management Committee of the Council, Dr Mani Tsoho, directed all supervisory councillors and advisers, to report to their respective areas.
He tasked them on assisting in mobilising and sensitising their subjects throughout the period of the polio immunizatíon exercise.
The exercise is slated to begin on Saturday April 20, 2024, in all the 44 local government areas of Kano.
