Leading global health organization options says it would collaborate with the Kano state government KNSG based on targets and objectives to deliver interventions set up to reduce maternal mortality among others.

The regional director of Options West and Central Africa Dr. Ufuoma Festus Omo-Obi made the indication during an inception co-creation meeting on RMNCAH+N and scaling up MNCH innovations in Kano.

According to him, the organization’s expectations align with the state’s strategic medium-term development framework which proposes an agenda for development.

He described health prosperity as a commitment enshrined in the states’ reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health and nutrition (RMNCAH-N), maternal newborn and child health (MNCH), and family planning programs among others.

Dr. Ufuoma emphasized the need to introduce innovations such as the new guideline created to address bleeding during birth by Professor Hadiza Galadanci.

Kano State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf represented by the permanent secretary of the ministry Alhaji Musa urged development partners not to relent in supporting the state.

He pointed out that, the topics were carefully selected to reflect the current reality and major concerns of health workers in Kano.

In his welcome address the director general of Kano State Primary Healthcare Management Board (SPHCMB), Dr. Nasir Mahmoud described the meeting as apt.

He stressed that the objective is to engage with all stakeholders to define strategies and objectives for the development of the Kano health sector.

The state state team leader options Dr. Mukhtar Muhammad provided an overview of the project, while the RMNCAH coordinator Ramatu Jibril presented a paper on the reproductive health and family planning programming situation in Kano state.

Paradigm News reports that,the event tagged inception co-creation meeting to scale up maternal neonatal innovation to reduce maternal and child mortality in Kano was organized by the Kano state government in collaboration with BMGF/TAconnect.
