Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has reassured property owners affected by the ongoing Tal’udu Overpass project of fair compensation and relocation.
The multi-billion naira project is part of the state’s urban renewal drive, aimed at enhancing infrastructure development and meeting global standards for a mega city.
During a meeting with stakeholders and community leaders at the Government House in Kano, Governor Yusuf emphasized his administration’s commitment to ensuring that affected property owners receive reasonable compensation.
Kano Government Vows to Pay School Food Contractors Promptly
He explained that the compensation would be paid through designated bank accounts, and that the government would also allocate new layouts to affected residents free of charge.
The Governor noted that the Tal’udu Overpass project, along with the Underpass Bridge at Kofar Dan’Agundi, are critical infrastructure developments aimed at enhancing the free flow of vehicular movements in the state.
He highlighted that the projects, valued at over N30 billion, would achieve multiple purposes, including urban beautification, decongestion of traffic, and urban renewal.

Community leaders, including Chairman of the Community Association, Alhaji Abba Aminu Imam, expressed appreciation for the government’s acceleration of development projects across the state.
They appealed for expedited settlement and compensation plans for affected community members.
In response, the government has constituted an adhoc committee to revisit the ongoing settlement and compensation plan for the Tal’udu community.

The committee’s findings and recommendations are expected to facilitate a smooth and fair compensation process for affected property owners.
