Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the sum of N8.2 billion for the execution of 15 major development projects across the state.
This decision was made during the 24th Executive Council Meeting held at the Kano Government House.

The approved projects cover various sectors, including education, infrastructure, energy, agriculture, and community development.
The governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, disclosed that the projects are aimed at improving the lives of citizens and promoting sustainable development in the state.

Some of the key projects include:
Construction of one-story blocks of four classrooms across 44 local government areas (N2.7 billion)
Dualization of major roads, including Government House Roundabout to Lodge Road (N2.3 billion)
Remodeling of Africa House Conference Hall and consultancy services at the Government House (N1.8 billion)
Supply of diesel and settlement of KEDCO liabilities (N1.2 billion and N790 million respectively)

The governor has also directed the Ministry of Environment to implement the state’s Climate Change Policy, aiming for a low-carbon, climate-resilient environment.
A Project Monitoring Committee has been constituted to oversee the execution of the projects, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
In a related development, Governor Yusuf received an award from the Yar’gaya Education Development Forum (YEDFO) for his outstanding contributions to developmental projects in the Yar’gaya community.
The management of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), also presented a letter of appreciation to the governor for resolving a 40-year-long land dispute.
