Comrade Waiya made this known during a high-level meeting for the take-off of Project Safe Corridor, an initiative of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf aimed at addressing political thuggery and criminal activities among youths in the state.

The meeting was jointly led by the Special Adviser on Joint Security Services, Air Commodore Yushe’u Abdullahi (Rtd.), and attended by key political youth influencers who were previously engaged in political thuggery.

A significant outcome of the meeting was the transformation of former political thugs into a new advocacy group named “Advocates Against Thuggery in Kano” which would soon be inaugurated.

The group fully managed by the youths themselves, has agreed to work towards eliminating political violence, promoting peace in the state.

During the meeting 21-member leadership committee was established to drive the campaign against thuggery, ensuring that the message of peace and responsible political engagement reaches every corner of Kano State.

The Kano State Government remains committed to creating an enabling environment for peaceful politics, and the Project Safe Corridor is a significant step towards achieving that goal.

The Commissioner and the Special Adviser, as the key players charged with the responsibility of managing the project, on behalf of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alh. Abba Kabiru Yusuf, called on all stakeholders, including political leaders, security agencies, and civil society organizations, to support the initiative in fostering unity and development in the state.
