Friday, March 7, 2025, will forever be etched in history as the day the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, under the dynamic leadership of Minister Arch. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa and Minister of State Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, reaffirmed its commitment to delivering affordable housing to Nigerians.

The official visit to Kano by Minister Dangiwa, Permanent Secretary Shuaibu Lamido Belgore, and a host of key stakeholders was a resounding demonstration of their resolve to bring President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda to fruition.

At precisely 8:30 a.m., a chartered flight carrying the esteemed visitors touched down at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport.

The teeming entourage of Minister Ata warmly received Minister Dangiwa and Permanent Secretary Belgore with an atmosphere of camaraderie and purpose.

Following a cordial exchange of pleasantries, the team embarked on a motorcade, cutting through the bustling streets of Kano en route to Lambu in Tofa Local Government Area.

As a Hausa adage aptly puts it, “Aiki gamai kare ka,” which translates to “A task is completed by its ultimate finisher.”

This sentiment resonated with Minister Dangiwa’s presence at the project site. Donning a hard hat and reflective jacket over his honey-colored shadda attire, subtly embroidered at the front, Dangiwa embodied a mix of tradition and modernity. Minister Ata and other key officials were similarly equipped, underscoring the hands-on nature of the visit.

During the inspection of the Renewed Hope Estate, Minister Dangiwa expressed dissatisfaction with the sluggish pace and subpar quality of work, issuing a stern warning that contracts failing to meet expectations would be revoked. His message was clear: excellence and timeliness were non-negotiable.

Conversely, the visit to the Renewed Hope City project elicited a more positive response. Minister Dangiwa commended the contractors for their progress, urging them to maintain momentum to ensure timely delivery.

He emphasized that the realization of President Tinubu’s pledge for affordable housing hinged on the commitment of all stakeholders.

The visit was more than an inspection; it was a reaffirmation of Kano’s strategic importance in achieving national housing goals.

Minister Dangiwa’s collaboration with his host, Minister Ata, was a testament to President Tinubu’s astute selection of capable leaders dedicated to transforming the nation’s housing landscape.

Moreover, the Ministry’s Director of Press, Salisu Badamasi Haiba, played a pivotal role in ensuring wide media coverage of the visit.

Through the strategic engagement of national TV stations and prominent dailies, Haiba ensured that Minister Dangiwa’s efforts were broadcast far and wide.

To capped it all, the Renewed Hope Housing Projects in Kano symbolize a beacon of progress and promise.

Beyond Kano, these initiatives have the potential to revitalize the nation’s housing sector, creating jobs, stimulating economic growth, and enhancing the quality of life for Nigerians.

With leaders like Ministers Dangiwa and Ata at the helm, the dream of affordable housing is no longer a distant hope—it is an emerging reality.
