In a bold effort to boost community development, Engineer Bello Abdullahi Gadanya, Chairman of Bagwai Local Government Council, has empowered youths with ₦10 million in cash, 500 cartons of spaghetti, and five vehicles to support sectors including education, security, health, and general welfare.
During the official presentation, the Acting Director of Personnel Management, Alhaji Sani Umar Shanono, stated that the distributed resources were strategically allocated to address key developmental challenges and uplift the standard of living in the area.

Engineer Gadanya highlighted the achievements of his administration, including the successful mediation of long-standing conflicts between Fulani herders and farmers. He also emphasized the council’s continued financial support for women and its broader commitment to community development.
“This initiative is expected to benefit over 1,000 residents,” said Engineer Gadanya. “It is part of our mission to ensure sustainable development and promote peaceful coexistence within the local government area.”
He also appealed to the people of Bagwai to maintain their support for the Kano State Government, assuring them of further interventions—most notably, an upcoming distribution of clothing for women next week.
Jigawa Residents Call for Transparency in Empowerment Programs
Alhaji Hashim Sulaiman Dungurawa, Kano State Chairman of the NNPP, praised the empowerment initiative, describing it as a model worth replicating across other local government areas. “This is true grassroots governance,” he said, urging other council leaders to follow suit.
Other dignitaries present, including the NNPP Chairman of Bagwai Local Government, Alhaji Masa’ud Badau; the representative of the District Head, Alhaji Shehu Abdulqadir; Malam Yusif Lado Dokaji; and Malam Sagiru Ali Bagwai, all commended Engineer Gadanya’s commitment to community service and pledged to ensure the initiatives are well utilized.
Hon. Sunusi Surajo Kwankwaso, the Governor’s Political Advisor, also delivered a goodwill message during the well-attended event, which drew a large number of NNPP supporters from across Bagwai.
