The Jigawa State Government has pledged full support for the Federal Government’s Sector Wide Approach (SWAp) initiative,
State Commissioner of Health Dr. Abdullahi Kaimu disclosed this while speaking at the opening session of a four-day capacity-building training for Health facilities managers and critical stakeholders in the state’s health sector held on Monday.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary State Ministry of Health, Dr. Kabiru Ibrahim, said the program would enhance transparency, accountability, and policy alignment while enabling real-time monitoring of health expenditures through an integrated online platform.
He stated that the aim is to consolidate all health budgetary allocations across federal, state, and local levels into a single funding framework.
Also speaking at the event, the representative of the Federal Ministry of Health, Mr. Gebiral Peter, emphasised that the SWAp initiative would integrate and streamline all public healthcare projects and programs to eliminate fragmentation in policy implementation.
He noted that the initiative will adopt a more robust approach to addressing healthcare challenges in Nigeria by strengthening coordination for better results.
State SWAp Coordinating Officer and Jigawa State Special Adviser to the Governor, Dr. Atiku Hafizu, said the training would equip participants about the program and their roles in achieving design objectives.
He reiterated the state Government’s commitment to improving the health sector for the well-being of its citizens.
