The National President of Gan Allah Fulani Development Association of Nigeria (GAFDAN), Alhaji Sulaiman Yakubu, has emphasized that continuous consultations and dialogue remain critical tools for achieving sustainable development and peaceful coexistence in Nigeria.
Yakubu made the remark while highlighting the association’s ongoing efforts to promote understanding between Fulani herders and host communities across the country. He noted that Gan Allah has intensified sensitization campaigns and advocacy programmes aimed at fostering mutual respect and reducing tensions in communities where herders operate.
According to him, the association has also taken its enlightenment efforts to various media platforms to reshape public narratives and promote peaceful engagement among farmers and herders.
The National President expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his administration’s interventions in addressing misunderstandings between herders and farmers nationwide. He assured the President of the association’s full support toward advancing peace and stability.
Yakubu also commended state and local governments that have established Farmers–Herders Committees to strengthen dialogue and develop strategies for harmonious coexistence. He described the initiative as a welcome development that will help reduce conflicts.
He urged both farmers and Fulani herders to always prioritize dialogue and consultations over violence, stressing that confrontation has never produced meaningful solutions.
Alhaji Yakubu reaffirmed Gan Allah’s commitment to sustained mobilization and advocacy across all states, reiterating that peace remains the only pathway to lasting development and a stable society.
