The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, has pledged the agency’s support for the Corporate Affairs Commission’s (CAC) ongoing digital transformation through the adoption of artificial intelligence.
Abdullahi made the commitment while delivering a goodwill message at the CAC’s 35th anniversary celebration held in Abuja, where he commended the Commission for its resilience, consistency, and sustained growth over the years.
He noted that while many organisations experience decline after periods of success, CAC has continued to grow and perform, describing its trajectory as one that continues to “thrive, thrive, and thrive.”
The NITDA Director General recalled his early engagement with the Commission, stating that organisational transformation was made a priority by the Registrar General from the beginning of his leadership.
According to him, meaningful progress in today’s digital era requires the integration of artificial intelligence, praising the Registrar General’s vision and determination to embed AI across CAC’s operations.
Abdullahi assured the Commission of NITDA’s full support, noting that the agency would collaborate closely with CAC to deploy AI across its various processes. He said the initiative would bring intelligence into workflows, simplify company registration and business management for Nigerians, and strengthen cybersecurity systems to combat hacking and fraud.
He further explained that equipping CAC staff with advanced AI tools would help the Commission stay ahead of fraudsters, adding that NITDA would ensure the deployment of ethical and responsible AI systems in line with national digital policies.
