A former member of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Armaya’u Abdulkadir (AY), has distributed more than 300 motorcycles to beneficiaries in Dutsinma and Kurfi Local Government Areas of Katsina State to support economic activities and improve livelihoods.
The former lawmaker, a politician and philanthropist based in Dutsinma, said the initiative was aimed at empowering residents struggling with economic hardship, worsened by persistent security challenges in the area.

Speaking to journalists, one of the beneficiaries, Aminu Amange, described the gesture as timely, noting that many residents could not afford to purchase motorcycles because of prevailing economic difficulties.
Amange said the former lawmaker had contributed to the development of the constituency through the provision of roads, healthcare facilities, schools and potable drinking water, as well as free medical outreach programmes and scholarships.
He urged the electorate to support Abdulkadir’s return to the House of Representatives, arguing that his contributions demonstrated a commitment to the welfare of the people.

Amange expressed confidence that Abdulkadir, if re-elected, would continue to collaborate with security agencies, traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders to address insecurity in the constituency.
According to him, protecting lives and property requires sustained cooperation among federal and state authorities, security agencies and local communities.
He added that the former lawmaker intended to extend empowerment initiatives to more beneficiaries, including political associates, friends and family members, while urging other well-meaning individuals to emulate his philanthropic efforts.
Abdulkadir, who lost his bid to retain the Dutsinma/Kurfi Federal Constituency seat in the 2023 general elections, has continued to support development initiatives in the area.

His reported interventions include the construction of a two-kilometre road and the provision of clinics aimed at improving access to healthcare services in parts of Dutsinma and Kurfi.
The former lawmaker has also pledged to explore additional empowerment opportunities, particularly for women, alongside infrastructure projects that would stimulate commercial activities and improve the living conditions of residents.
