The Kano Government College football team are expected to storm Abuja ahead of the national inter-secondary schools Under-15 soccer tournament scheduled for October 24 to November 1, 2024.
The competition, which is being organized by the Nigerian School Sports Federation (NSSF) under the leadership of its President, Olabisi Joseph, attracted schools across the country.
Speaking on the competition, the head of school sports Kano State Ministry of Education, Ibrahim Bello said preparations for the championship had commenced with a view to ensure the state excel in the tournament.
He explained that the boys were engage in rigorous training and other techniques twice a day aimed at emerging victorious at the end of the competition.
While commending Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the state Commissioner of Education, Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa, for their unflinching support financially and morally, he charged participants to redouble their efforts to ensure success.
Bello, however, assured that with the boy’s commitment and determination, the sky would be their limit.
Meanwhile, the NSSF President, Olabisi Joseph, warned the participating schools to avoid fielding overage players, as the organizers will not tolerate such behaviour during the championship.
